Hear about a Monarch Way station.

Learn of the many challenges the milkweed caterpillar faces as it eats its way to its chrysalis to emerge as a Monarch butterfly.

Find out about the resources out there or those interested in learning more about the Monarch, or those who want to be a part of a nationwide  effort to bring the dwindling numbers of the monarchs back.

Join Leta Schaufer on March 19th at 6 pm and she will hare as much information with you! What she has learned about the Monarch since she started raising, tagging and releasing them.

Also, some information about butterfly gardens too For Members Only. Limited to 20 guests.

Annual Pancake Breakfast at the Owatonna Eagles

  • Tickets: $5 per person-per purchased; $6 per person at the door; 5 and under eat for free
  • Tickets are available at the SeniorPlace, from SeniorPlace Inc. Board of Directors and at Kottke Jewelry

Do you know someone that seems to always be busy volunteering in Steele County?  Pick up a nomination form today!

The nominee must be a resident of Minnesota and he/she must attain the again of 70 by June 1, 2013.  Only volunteer activities after age 65 for which there was no compensation (except for reimbursed expenses) will be considered.

A nomination forms can be picked up at Owatonna SeniorPlace, Blooming Prairie and Ellendale Senior Dining sites and Medford Americana Community Bank.

Submittal Deadline is June 7, 2013 to the Owatonna SeniorPlace
